As North Wales premier coastal resort the town of Llandudno is a great place for your holiday. There is a greater choice of hotels in Llandudno than anywhere else in North Wales from small boutique style hotels to large hotels with hundreds of rooms. Llandudno's hotels have a reputation for providing excellent service combined with the towns wonderful attractions that draw visitors back year after year.
Llandudno's beautifully curved Victorian promenade is home to most of the towns hotels. The promenade was built during Victorian times and still retains much of the same character today being noticeably absent of shops or amusements. Llandudno's promenade is perfectly framed between its two headlands, the Great Orme to the north and Little Orme to the east and stretches for well over a mile between the two. The hotels on the promenade enjoy some wonderful views of Llandudno's bay and pier and this tends to make these the most expensive in the town.
There is enough variety of hotels on the promenade to suit almost all tastes and budgets. Many of the larger hotels are owned and operated by national chains and boast large ballrooms, swimming pools, and restaurants. Two examples of such hotels are The St George's Hotel and The Imperial Hotel which are both located within easy reach of Llandudno's town centre.
Nestled amongst the larger hotels are the smaller privately owned hotels. These hotels are the Llandudno hotels that have built up a reputation for quality and attract the majority of repeat visitors. An example of one of the best privately owned hotels is the St Tudno's Hotel which has won many awards for its quality of service and excellent restaurant.
The north end of the promenade is home to Llandudno's Pier. Here you can find the large and imposing Grand Hotel which stands just off the pier itself. Behind the Grand Hotel is the North Parade where you can find slightly less expensive hotels that still have a view of the Llandudno Bay.
Away from the promenade are a small number of other hotels worth mentioning one of which is The Empire Hotel. The Empire Hotel is a modern hotel located approximately five minutes away from Llandudno's promenade and is located at the top of Mostyn Street in the shadow of the Great Orme. The Empire Hotel has a reputation as being one of Llandudno's finest hotels.
Another hotel located away from the promenade is Llandudno's Risboro Hotel. The Risboro Hotel is approximately 10 minutes walk from the town centre and promenade. While not as large as some other hotels the Risboro offers and excellent choice for a quality hotel away from the hustle and bustle.
If you're looking for a more peaceful location there are a small number of hotels on the towns West Shore. The West Shore has views towards the Snowdonia Mountains and Isle of Anglesey and is less well known, and less crowded, than Llandudno's promenade. The location is ideal if you're looking for more peace and quiet with the town centre about 20 minutes walk away.
The Deganwy Quay Hotel and Bodysgallen Hall and Spa Hotel are two hotels located within a couple of miles of Llandudno town centre that are worth mentioning. The Deganwy Quay Hotel is located on Deganwy Marina and is one of the regions top rated hotels. You can enjoy views of Conwy Castle and the Conwy Estuary in this exclusive modern hotel. The Bodysgallen Hall and Spa Hotel is located in its own grounds and is one of Wales finest country house hotels. The Bodysgallen Hall and Spa Hotel is ideal if you're looking for seclusion and are willing to pay a little bit more for it.
